BINGHAMTON CITY SCHOOL DISTRICT FOR RELEASE: Immediately DATE: September 29, 1999 Entry Forms for this year's 1999-2000 Rod Serling School of Fine Arts Video Festival are now available. Here's your chance to write, direct, and/or star in your own video! All students, from kindergartners through seniors in high school, are eligible to enter this statewide competition. Joining our current sponsors, Time Warner Cable, Hollywood Video, Old Country Buffet, and JL Video and Multimedia are Tier.Net of Vestal and Broadway Banner and Graphics of Saratoga Springs. Tier.Net designed the official festival website and Broadway Banner has provided all graphics used for the festival. The Grand Prize for Best of Show will be a VHS Camcorder courtesy of Time Warner Cable. Honors will be given for the following categories: Best of Show, Best use of Humor, Best use of Music, Best Acting, and Best Special Effects. Prizes and certificates will be awarded at a special screening/award presentation at the Helen Foley Theatre on Friday June 2, 2000 at 7:00 PM. Entries must be on 1/2 - inch video tape (VHS) and may be of any length up to a maximum of 5 minutes. All entries must be received by May 1, 2000. There is a $5 entry fee to cover administrative and festival costs. The festival is co-sponsored by the Binghamton City School District with special sponsors, Time Warner Cable, JL Video and Multimedia, Hollywood Video, Old Country Buffet, Tier.Net, First Night Binghamton, and Broadway Banner and Graphics. Lawrence Kassan is available to speak to school groups around the Southern Tier about the Rod Serling Video Festival. Videos of previous year's winning entries, a discussion of the creative process as well as rules and regulations, and offering 2000 entry forms will all be part of the presentation. |
